Field Trips

Field trips increase student knowledge and understanding of a subject and add realism to the topic of study. Field trips provide an opportunity to develop and enhance a student's socialization skills. Our students go on several field trip excursions to receive valuable, on-site training in specialized areas. Besides the obvious educational value, the field trips are a welcome break from our highly intensive training schedule. Note that the field trips depend on availability and scheduling possibilities. Below are examples.

The Hotel L'Europe is the number one hotel in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Students spend an entire afternoon learning the trade from the hotel's Executive Head Butler. The Kruisheren Hotel in Maastricht is another superb hotel we visit. Opera Domotica is a company specializing in luxury home automation. Students spend an afternoon in their opulent showroom, gaining knowledge.

Greve Shoes has been making handmade shoes since 1898. Victorian House conducts enlightening courses on cleaning, repairing, and properly storing antique silver. Typically, our students go onboard a corporate jet to receive a hands-on presentation at The Aviation Factory, learning why buying or hiring a private jet can make sense.

Sleeping has become a science, and the experts at Douxe teach the students how to make the employer happy by choosing the right products. Students learn the many aspects of cigar handling from La Casa del Habana.

Other field trips include a full day in Maastricht as part of our Art & Culture training, whereby we visit exam performances at the Conservatory. Another field trip is a full day at the TEFAF. TEFAF is widely regarded as the world’s premier fair for fine art, antiques, and design, bringing together 7,000 years of art history under one roof.
