You will be the main point of contact for matters relating to the home and personal affairs not already handled by a concierge service. Duties:
The aim of this role is for the principal to have a single point of contact to handle his personal affairs. Depending on your start date, you may take on some project management responsibilities, ensuring that any outstanding works are seen through to completion.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Primary Responsibility: Household Management

  • Coordinating and recruiting domestic staff (e.g., cleaners) and ensuring standards remain high.
  • Identifying any household maintenance requirements and addressing them yourself if possible.
  • Sourcing, negotiating with, and supervising any external contractors.
  • Ensuring the home is fully stocked for the principal, undertaking personal shopping if required.
  • Being available for deliveries for the house.
  • Running errands (e.g., to the post office/dry cleaning).
  • Guest welcoming and event organization skills are required.
  • Preparing the house in the event the principal invites guests.
  • Sourcing additional staff (e.g., private chef) for private events.
  • Assisting with basic breakfast preparation and coordinating with the chef.

Finance & Administration:

  • Tending to household bills or any other domestic administration.

Driving is required:

  • Driving duties, whether that is a trip within Ireland or a simple airport run.

Packing & Unpacking is required:

  • The principal travels a lot; however, travel with the principal will depend on specific needs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience supporting a HNW individual with orchestrating their private affairs and managing their domestic household needs (3–4 years of private experience).
  • Must be a confident driver.
  • Able to offer flexibility, as the client travels frequently, which offers downtime within the role for significant periods.
  • Preferably based within Ireland or willing to relocate for the role.
  • DBS check required at the offer stage (cost will be reimbursed).
  • High level of English.
  • Always formal, professional style, but also humble. Can be down-to-earth based on the atmosphere.

Accommodation:
For the right candidate, the client may be open to renting accommodation or subsidizing accommodation (no rental fee) at the same property. The candidate will be responsible for paying for electricity, water, etc. The client has multiple properties overseas, so there may be opportunities to travel for those who are open to this kind of opportunity.

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (weekends are free; however, the butler will be on call at weekends), 45 hours a week (flexible when the client is in residence). Daily working hours: 9:00 – 18:00.

Probationary Period:

As the head butler, you will be part of the excellent team of this resort, which is motivated to provide guests with the best and most personalized services and create lasting experiences. Perfection is hidden in the smallest yet tangible details. It is about a truthful feeling derived from the heart and the butler should be able to transfer this heartfelt passion to the guests.

Responsibilities

The Head Butler would be responsible for the Kiali residence (presidential suite), but won’t be limited to only the presidential suite. Depending on the business demand the Head Butler will also be assigned guests from other Villas. You will work on SOPs, manuals, and a butler book to train and guide the existing service team. The longer vision is a perfect host program and an exclusive service program for high-end clients.

The team is young and compact (8 butlers), which means direct communication with all levels of the staff and an opportunity to showcase your butler skills and upgrade the skills of your team members.

The global guidelines of this resort are 40% female staffing and management. Therefore, a female butler would be an extension of the team. Nonetheless, an experienced gentleman is also welcome.

Please note that there are challenges in working on an island. Besides working, you should be able to maintain and entertain yourself. It is not easy to travel to the capital or other places because of the unique location. This means that the butler should be able to cope with living and working on an island. On your days off, you can travel to other islands or the capital, but this means taking an inland flight.

The required profile

Hospitality experience is a requirement, preferably experience within a 5-star service environment or private service;
You have (at least) basic knowledge about gastronomy and are aware of F&B service facets;
Excellent command of the English language, next to this, Russian, Mandarin or German would be a plus
You have a sincere and endless passion for hospitality which allows you to provide heartfelt service, without exceptions;
You are willing to completely pamper a guest with your charms and passion for hospitality;
You are familiar with service etiquette and enjoy being representative;
You're able to manage a team of professionals, to be an inspirational leader and you have organizational talent;
